I’m sorry!
It wasn’t that I forgot that I’d promised to post every Wednesday. It was that I literally did not have time. I know, I know, “I don’t have time” is the most common excuse for a dropped ball EVER, but in this case, I literally did not have time. I scrambled to complete all my readings for the first week of class for my graduate program in education, which just started last week. Even with eliminating my morning block of writing time and making it reading time, I still almost failed to get everything finished.
My 2019 writing goals are now looking… unlikely at best. Laughably hilarious at worst.
So far, graduate school feels like this:
Why did I really think I’d be able to go to school full-time, work, AND write??
I am still going to finish Soldier of Dorsa this summer! Swear! But I don’t know that it will be out by mid-June as I had intended. Sorry…..
The good news is… when it does come out, I think you’re going to love it. I hope you will, anyway.
Here are the excerpts I’ve posted so far:
- Prologue (will likely remain in the final version)
- Updated Chapter 1 (likely the final version)
- Chapter 7-ish (the chapter will stay but may not be “7”)
- A few random sentences
- May not make the final version:
- Tasia and Nik at the Midsummer Festival (will probably include at least the flashback in the final version)
- Joslyn talking to the ship’s captain (will probably cut all of this)
- A flashback to when Joslyn got sold to her second master

Goodness! Grad school sounds terrifyingly busy! But worth the permanent “headless chicken” feeling, I’m sure. I hope you get to take time out to relax and take a breather. I’m looking forward to the next instalment of Princess of Dorsa, but it can be released whenever… it’s worth the wait. 🙂

Ooooo….simply can’t wait for Soldier to take her bow when she’s ready!!! 😀 No worries about release date. Take it easy! The best ones are always worth the wait…imho! 🙂 And yours is! 😉

I am so happy that I found this blog. I’ve been low key heartbroken since I finished princess of dorsa. I needed this! I am amazing and SO happy that you’re posting these!
Also goals are meant to be failed, how else can we be reminded of our frail human nature? Focus on self care!
The Real Person!
Aww, don’t be heartbroken! The next book will make it out this summer….. at some point! LOL. I promise I’m not GRRM.
