This is a strange experience. I just spent a couple hours creating a cover and a title (right) for a book I haven’t written a single word for. I don’t have character ideas, backstory, anything, just a vague idea. Here it is. You can tell me: (1) What do you think of the cover? and (2) What do you think of the idea?
Concept
A woman leaves a bad (abusive?) relationship and bad memories. She moves into an old house, a duplex rental, and gradually begins trying to piece her life and her heart back together. She works on small home improvement projects in the house and the garden as a way of keeping her mind and her hands busy.
She starts to notice strange things happening around the house — mugs back on the shelves when she’s sure she left them in the sink, doors and windows opening and closing on their own accord.
And then there’s her beautiful, reclusive neighbor who lives in the other half of the duplex. She has trouble getting her neighbor to open up — to say anything, at first — but slowly the two become friends. As time goes on, however, our heroine starts to realize there’s a definite connection between her new friend next door and what she’s come to think of as her “hauntings.”
You can’t fall in love with a ghost… can you? And even if you do, you can’t actually have a relationship with one… right?
A story about letting go / holding on / moving on.

Great Concept. Reminiscent of a classic movie from 1947.
