Hi folks!

I am happy to include for you below an excerpt from AJ Adaire’s new novel, Don’t Forget.  Here’s the description:

In 1986, Jamie Parker falls in love. What could be bad about that? Nothing except that the object of her affection is Val DiLeona, friend and fellow administrator in the same school district. If Jamie has misinterpreted that Val has similar feelings, confessing her affection could result in the end of their friendship. Then there is the little matter of the consequences at work. Outing herself as a lesbian could result in her losing her job.

Nearly thirty years later, in 2016, Jamie meets ambulance driver, Kelly, in a hospital waiting room. Upon learning how long Jamie and her partner have been together, Kelly asks Jamie to tell her their story. As Jamie begins, neither woman can imagine the impact their casual conversation will have on their lives, and the lives of those they love.

Positive Reviews from Amazon Readers:

“This is what I always have been looking for but hardly have been able to find. A love story with an older couple and a story that does not stop at the first encounter but spanning years following the main characters. This is a story with real depth and a remarkable relationship development. The biggest part of the story is set during an era when sexual identity could sent your entire existence into disarray. You had to keep your sexuality hidden because of all the consequences. And not to mention the social discomfort. In that time you must be very careful about who you came out to. The author did a great job with telling the life story of Val and Jamie, two amazing women. Their struggle to figure things out, their way of dealing with prejudice was masterfully put down. The off-beat way in which this story is told is very appealing. All characters were heartwarming and I have never felt so connected to characters as in Don’t Forget. I cared deeply for them. This book I’ll surely read several times. A true love story that is very dear to my heart and I strongly recommend it.”

“This was another great romance story by AJ Adaire. This one is actually about an older couple who is downsizing. When one of them falls and winds up in the hospital, the other makes friends with one of the paramedics who came to the rescue. To keep Jamie’s mind off what might be going on with her partner, the paramedic asks her what their secret is, and the story begins. The story seamlessly shifts back to the “old days” when it was much more of a challenge–and much scarier–to tell someone you cared for them. Losing your job, not to mention losing the friendship you already had, was very real. This was a wonderful story, just what I expected from AJ Adaire.”

“I loved this story. Happy to read about older women. Tired of all the young coming of age stories. It was great to hear how women in their later thirties fell in love and then the older Jamie telling someone much younger how she met and fell in love with Val. Especially teachers in the 1980’S trying to keep their jobs while finding a way to live together. Finished it in one reading because I could not put it down. Worth buying.”
